Potential Card Backs for Dawn – Rise of the Occulites

G’day guys,

I’ve been playing around with some artwork for potential card backs for Dawn: Rise of the Occulites and would love to hear your thoughts on which you like best and why.

So far there are six options. Please let me know which one you prefer and just as, if not more importantly – why you like it.

If you like bits from several different card backs, just let me know as well please.

  1. IV, V and VI are great, though I voted for VI because it’s the best of the three for me (very artistic, with style). Now, as I’ve played games with cards when younger, before I knew of card sleeves, the average player might pick your game up and start playing without protective sleeves, and if the cards have to be randomized, dirt and wear will mark them, which could spoil the randomness for the observant player. So, the more noise on the background, the better.

      Thanks for the thoughts Rodrigo!
Card marking can be a problem, but we are looking to use good quality stock as the deck will be shuffled and event/sungem cards used in different ratios depending on the scenario. Because of this we hope that card marking won’t become a problem. But totally understand your point of view (and its why I always use sleeves) 🙂

Hi, long time no speak/mail/comment – hope all is OK with yourself and family (yup am still alive) 🙂

For me I like the colour of the dawn but wonder if it will clash with a ‘dusk’ card – maybe a few stars for dusk? So I would be tempted to go for 4 or 5 but just use the word DAWN in white.

    Take care Andrew

Cheers Andrew! Great to hear from you – I hope everything is going well for you too mate. 🙂

About the cards, don’t worry as the ones for DUSK don’t interchange with DAWN as they are different games, so it will be ok. 🙂
